York Light Youth is the youth group of York Light Opera Company that focuses on theatrical productions for 11 to 18 year-olds. 

Established in July 2013, our aim is to nurture and develop young performers who share our passion for musical theatre, by providing them with the opportunity to take part in high quality musical productions. York Light Youth members who are 16+ are also invited to perform in the shows at York Theatre Royal with the adult company. 

We have an experienced Director, Musical Director and Choreographer spearheading the creative side and we are also supported by the main York Light Opera Company management team. 

As well as putting on an annual show, York Light Youth also has its own choir which meets regularly throughout the year and performs in the annual Choir Festival at Joseph Rowntree Theatre, at York's St Sampson's Centre, and other concerts in York.
